Portable Apps - Portable Computer

Most people are not yet aware that they can carry their computer on their key chain, around their neck or in their pocket.

Why do I say that?

Have you ever heard of portable applications? These are apps for short that you can install on a keychain and run on any Windows computer without leaving a trace. On top of all that they are VERY fast because many of the links to Windows are not needed. So even if you had an old computer that was running Microsoft Outlook 2007 as slow as a dog, you can revive it with Portable Apps!

I hope you realize that when you carry these apps around, you carry them on a memory stick, USB stick or flash drive, or ... when are we going to give these things a standard name???? It is getting frustrating. I will call them USB sticks to simplify or perhaps even to complicate more the name-calling.

Here is the latest portable app I have discovered, called affectionately, CODYSAFE. According to the description this is what Codysafe can do.

"CodySafe is a menu utility for portable applications. Turn your USB flash drive to a computer-on-stick. You may add, manage and launch your portable applications with ease and comfort. You can manage documents, multimedia files and pictures. You can keep your disk healthy with Drive Doctor. You will always know how much memory is used and available on your disk. These and numerous other useful features and options make CodySafe indispensable. Enjoy operating you USB flash drive or portable hard disk with CodySafe. The management of your portable documents, multimedia files and pictures has never being that easy. Add and control your portable applications with maximum convenience. Enjoy stylish and elegant menu, designed especially for Windows Vista and Windows 7.Version 0.9.0.47 adds new command line arguments and languages."

Okay, okay. I haven't even told you much about portable apps and now I am already giving you a menu for them! Yes I realize I jump from thought to thought a lot. Once I ..... not now! You can find many other useful portable applications here where they have their own system menu. You can either download the whole Portable Apps Suite or individual programs that you need. I recommend that you only download apps that are immediately useful to you. You can always go back for more later.

The beauty of these applications is that in their effort to be portable, they have created faster, smoother, bare-bones apps that can speed up your whole work efforts. Right now I am creating this posting using Firefoxportable.

You can have your email, antivirus, internet security, word processor, graphics and photo programs all on a USB stick which you carry with you to use on any computer without leaving a trace.

Simon Hensby is a successful "failure" in my eyes. He gave up his regular job because his autistic kid was having trouble and could not cope in regular school. He lived on part-time jobs just to keep going.

In the meantime he was creating useful educational software that an autistic child could use. Now millions of people and schools enjoy what he sacrificed to create!
